For Denise Pearson appearing on the Here and Now tour is like a second chance at the big time.

And this time she gets to enjoy it all.

In love with music since her youth, the singer fully realised the success of Five Star as she toured round the UK in the '80s.

"I look back and I wish I could have enjoyed it a lot more," she says now.

"I was still going to school when we were in Five Star and everything was just happening so quickly, the albums, the singles and the videos.

"I look back and I cannot remember it but now, with the Here and Now tour, we get a second chance. It's fantastic."

The band - still called Five Star even though it only features three of the original members, Lorraine, Denise and Stedman - were part of the last comeback tour and loved it.

The 35-year-old singer and songwriter said, "We are still all close as a family - it was just the others who did not want to come back and tour.

"But once the three of us got going and met everyone it was fantastic."

Fans keep approaching the mother-of-two with posters, albums and clipping books from the period when the band were at the pinnacle of their career.

Though the band had four top 20 albums they faded into the background during the past 15 years amid claims of bankruptcy and tabloid tails.

However, Denise is keen to point out that they never stopped making music, despite less than flattering stories in the Press.

In the '90s they released three studio albums, including their last Eclipse, but also cashing in on their past success they released five Greatest Hits albums.

The threesome are also due to release a reworking of one of their more successful hits, System Addict, in February.

Adds Denise, "We have got Timbaland (legendary producer) doing the track for us and we are getting ready to put the vocals on top.

"But for new music we are writing and developing in LA all the time."
